A stock that can't be fudged by hand
In Backhurry, a stock quantity isn't a cell you overwrite. It's the result of all your movements: every receipt, every sale, every transfer, every correction is added to the history, and the counter recalculates itself. Nobody overwrites a figure « to save time »: you record a movement, dated and attributed. As a result, you always know where a stock figure comes from — and why it changed.
The stock shown = the sum of the movements. Nothing is entered directly in the cell.
Four gestures, your whole stock under control
Every stock change goes through one of these four movements. Nothing complicated: you click, you enter a quantity, the counter follows.
Stock in
Supplier receipt, customer return, in-house production: goods arrive, stock goes up. Every stock-in keeps its source and date.
Stock out
Sale, consumption, breakage, donation: goods leave, stock goes down. From the checkout or by hand, the movement is tracked.
Transfer
An item moves from one location to another — from the warehouse to the shop, from the van to the workshop — without ever distorting the total.
Adjustment
Spotted a discrepancy? You fix it with a dated, documented adjustment, not by overwriting the figure. The history stays honest.
Goods come in through a goods receipt, not a cell
When a supplier order arrives, you open a goods receipt, check off what you actually received, and stock increments all at once — cleanly. Partial delivery, a quantity different from the purchase order, an item to create on the fly: it is all covered. You no longer type « + 120 » into a cell; you validate a receipt, and it stays on record.
- Each received line automatically credits the right product.
- Order / receipt discrepancies are visible, not hidden.
- A missing item? You create it without leaving the receipt.

Reordering warns you before you run out
Set an alert threshold per item — the level below which you need to reorder. As soon as a quantity crosses it, Backhurry notifies you: an in-app alert, an email to the right person, a « to reorder » view that lists everything at once. You order at the right time, from the right supplier, without spending your days watching the levels.
6 items below their threshold. Main supplier: 3 lines to reorder.
Inventory reconciles the real and the theoretical
Once or twice a year — or whenever doubt creeps in — you count. Backhurry shows the theoretical stock next to your count, calculates the variance, and turns each difference into a dated adjustment. No brutal reset: you keep a record of what was corrected, when, and by whom. Your stock gets back to ground truth without losing its history.
A case, displays, boosters — counted together
Some products contain others. A sealed case holds several displays; each display, several boosters. Backhurry knows this bill of materials and calculates stock at every level — that's derived stock.
You define the composition once: « 1 case = 6 displays », « 1 display = 36 boosters » (your numbers). Then, when you open a case to sell by the unit, Backhurry decrements the case and credits the displays automatically. Need to rebuild a batch? Recomposition does the reverse. You sell at whatever level you want — case, display or booster — without ever counting the same goods twice. Handy at the checkout: as you sell a booster, derived stock knows exactly what is left, and alerts you if a display needs opening.
Trading-card game shops use it every day: case → display → booster, sold at every level, one consistent stock. See the retail and point-of-sale solution.

Frequently asked questions about stock management
How Backhurry's no-code stock management module actually works.
In a spreadsheet, the quantity is a cell anyone can overwrite — often without a trace. In Backhurry, the quantity is a transactional counter: it's calculated from your movements (in, out, transfer, adjustment), each one dated and attributed. You never change the figure directly; you record a movement. So you always know why a stock figure moved, and you no longer find it wrong « without knowing since when ».
A bundled product contains others: a sealed case holds several displays, each display several boosters. You describe this bill of materials once, and Backhurry calculates stock at every level — that's derived stock. When you open a case to sell by the unit, the case goes down and the displays go up automatically; recomposition does the reverse. You sell by the case, the display or the booster, with one consistent stock.
Yes. The stock module and the Checkout module share the same platform: a counter sale records a stock-out and decrements stock. On bundled products, derived stock knows what's left at the level being sold and can alert you if a display needs opening to fulfil the sale.
Discover the Checkout moduleYes. The transfer is one of the four movements: an item moves from one location to another — warehouse, shop, van, workshop — without ever distorting the total. If you have only one location, you simply don't add this dimension: the module stays your size.
The stock module is included in Backhurry: €9 per month per user, all in, with no tiers and no separately billed options. The trial lasts 7 days, free and with no credit card, and your data stays freely exportable as JSON. You build your tracking, you change it whenever you want, with no new quote.
